Starting a new business often comes from a place of passion and purpose. For me, the journey began during quiet nights when my wife worked nights. To keep myself busy and creative, I picked up leather crafting as a hobby. Five years later, what started as a simple pastime has grown into a full-fledged business launching officially on the 1st January 2026. After more than 20 years serving in the British Army, this handmade leather craft venture is something I can truly call my own.

How Leather Crafting Became a Personal Escape

Leather crafting first caught my attention as a way to fill the long hours alone at home in the evening when my wife was at work and the kids had gone to bed. The process of cutting, stitching, and shaping leather gave me a sense of calm and accomplishment. It was a hands-on activity that contrasted sharply with my military career, which is structured and demanding. The tactile nature of handmade leather craft allowed me to focus on creating something tangible and lasting.

This hobby quickly became a form of therapy. Each piece I made reflected patience and attention to detail, qualities I have developed over two decades in service. The satisfaction of finishing a product and seeing its quality made me realise this could be more than a hobby.
